MESSAGE from our Head of School SHAUN ALSPACH:
HCA has a long history, and will have a long future, but we all must act now!

Over the past several years our public school system has experienced significant challenges in spite of the best efforts of many staff who are pushed beyond capacity. During this same time period, the public system has decided to focus on reinforcing many concepts and ideologies that are in stark contradiction to Christian values.

Therefore, it is vital that we expand Christian Education during this time in order to provide an accessible, strong alternative to any family who desires to enroll their children in a school that uses its 1000 hours of annual influence to reinforce Biblical values, teach in alignment with Christian principles, and train students to a high academic level. This school is Halifax Christian Academy, and with no government funding, we need your support to be able to increase the impact we can have on young lives.

Through DYCC we can keep HCA STRONG, which will allow us to focus on what is important, our students! Your contribution allows us to more effectively nurture them, teach them, and disciple them, as they develop their own walk with Jesus. We strive to create an environment where students develop a reliable moral compass and a heart for others.

About The Giving Tool

We have licensed with Donate Your Change to create RoundUp Giving accounts. DYC powers a custom, high-integrity, web-based giving tool that allows you, our valuable donor, to give through roundups on your everyday purchases.

You choose which of your chequing or debit or credit card accounts to give from, and how much you want to round up, every day, every time you spend. Every debit or credit card purchase or bank transaction you make will automatically round up based on the limits you set, and the difference will go to our mission and work.

Sign-Up Requirements and Help

Have you ever viewed your Bank or Credit Card accounts online before?

If not, you will need to enroll in online banking directly with your financial institutions. This is the level of security that Donate Your Change is built upon. You will then be able to Link Bank accounts and Credit Cards to your charity using your online banking profile, ensuring the highest level of security at all times.

If yes, have your online Banking information ready as you complete the sign-up process with DonateYourChange as you support your chosen charity. Simply follow the step by step prompts when you click "Sign Up Now". Simple and Secure.

During the signup process, as you Link your accounts to your DYC charity, your bank will ask you to verify your identity to complete this connection. Providing your bank with your Online info verifies your credentials and completes this Link. Any banking and security information requested is secure between you and your bank. DYC does not see or store any of this information.

NOTE: Donate Your Change Canada will never contact you requesting your personal information or account passwords. You will be the only one who is able to Link your accounts and make changes to your giving profile. You may be notified if an account has changed or a card has expired, but it is up to you to respond. You are always in control of your giving.

Sign-Up FAQs

Why will I need my online banking information?

This level of security ensures that only you will be the one Linking your accounts to the DYC funding tool. You are the only one with this secure information and this information is not stored on our system. You are simply authorizing DYC to process your round ups for your charity.

While signing up, I have connected with my bank profile and I see all my cards and accounts. I don't want everything Linked; what do I do?

You may have many accounts in your personal bank profile and you can exclude any you do not wish to Link at this time or unlink these in the future.

Now that my profile is set up, do I have to do anything else?

There is nothing else that must be done. Your account will continue to actively donate to your charity, with no additional effort on your part. You will have to update any accounts or cards that expire to keep them active.

I see many options populate when I try to select my financial institution. Which one do I choose?

With many institutions, it may look like there are many options to choose from but only one will truly work with your account sign-in. If you select one and receive an error, try the next one. (For example, American Express populates over 20 options, but only one will be associated with your card.) If you require further help on this, please contact for assistance.

I keep getting an error. Am I doing something wrong?

With over 18,000 institutions, there are daily system and security updates from many sources, and errors can be expected. While selecting the right financial institution, you may have to try a number of the options until you get the one that works.
